From the Executive Director

As we present this second-quarter edition of Voices of Impact, I am proud to reflect on an 18-year journey of working alongside communities, governments, development partners, and stakeholders to drive meaningful change through Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC), which has echoed one simple yet powerful truth: lasting change begins when people are placed at the centre of solutions.

Across Nigeria and on the global stage, CCSI continues to expand its reach through a strong commitment to evidence-driven, community-led development. From co-chairing the 2026 International SBCC Summit in Panama to engaging communities across Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano, and Kaduna, our work is delivering meaningful and lasting impact.

What stands out most is not just the scale of our engagement, but the depth of it. We are witnessing a shift from communities as passive recipients to active architects of their development journeys. Whether through human-centred design shaping maternal health solutions or the influence of faith and cultural leaders advancing childbirth spacing, or engaging local structures to address zero dose children, one truth remains clear: sustainable impact is rooted in lived realities.

This quarter also highlighted the importance of dialogue between spouses, communities and health systems, and between local insights and global knowledge. Through our Faith and Cultural Champions Project, the story of Lawal and Fadhila reminds us that sometimes, the most powerful change begins with a single conversation.

At a systems level, our partnership with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency has strengthened citizen engagement, ensuring communities play a central role in shaping primary healthcare delivery. Globally, our contributions at the SBCC Summit in Panama and the Women Deliver 2026 Conference in Melbourne, Australia continue to inform more inclusive, forward-looking approaches to partnership and practice.

As we look ahead, we remain clear in our bid to contribute to the growing body of knowledge, expand evidence use, strengthen partnerships, and amplify community voices to drive equitable and sustainable outcomes. Though the challenges are complex, the pathway is clear, when we do three things; listen deeply, collaborate intentionally, and act with purpose.
