Rugan Ardo ”WASH” Project

Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI) implements a community WASH project in Rugan Ardo, a Fulani settlement in the outskirt of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. The project is our Corporate Social Responsibility approved by the BoT in 2018 to mark the 10th anniversary of an impactful existence in Nigeria.

The project sought to address a very pressing need of the people. The community which had been in their present site for more than 30 years had never benefitted from any spillover development from the city. They live without a lot of the basic social services that would otherwise had made life better until CCSI provided them with borehole for water and blocks of toilet. Inbuilt into the project is the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) component that seeks to make information available as well as build the capacities of the people on how to stop open defecation and build a culture of hand washing.
