Most communication professionals have lived this moment. You craft the perfect message. The data is solid. The strategy is airtight. And yet… it doesn’t land the way you hoped. That quiet gap between intention and impact is exactly where the Leadership in Strategic Communication Workshop (LSCW), begins.
The Leadership in Strategic Communication Workshop (LSCW) was conceived as more than a training programme. It was designed as a space for reflection, connection, and transformation, where strategic communication professionals do not just acquire skills but leave with renewed purpose and perspective. One where people come in with different titles, sectors, and stories, and quickly realize they share the same questions. How do we listen better? How do we lead with clarity in uncertainty? How do we communicate in ways that move people, not just metrics? Facilitated by the Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI), in partnership with the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, Baltimore, the workshop sits at the intersection of strategy, leadership, and real-world impact.

Over the years, LSCW has evolved into an immersive, hands-on learning experience that brings together participants from diverse backgrounds to share stories, challenge assumptions, and learn from one another. Rooted in culture and lived experience, the workshop creates room for deep listening, collaboration, and honest conversations about leadership and impact.
Each edition of LSCW has responded deliberately to the moment it was held. From themes such as Learn to Listen, Listen to Learn, to Reboot: Reignite Your Spark in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the workshop has consistently addressed the realities facing strategic communication practitioners while encouraging them to think differently and act boldly.
In 2016, LSCW marked a decade of impact, bringing together participants from across Africa under the theme Think Big, Start Small, Act Now. That milestone reflected not only growth as an organisation, but the enduring influence of mentors and thought leaders such as the late Dr. Benjamin Lozare, whose legacy continues to shape how leadership, communication, and service are understood and practiced.
In 2025, the Leadership program embarked on the Masterclass Series themed The Power of One: Cultivating a Culture of Connection. The workshop explores what makes communication truly effective in complex environments, placing strong emphasis on culture, storytelling, collaboration over competition, and leadership that is anchored in empathy and purpose.
At its core, LSCW is about people leaving as different versions of themselves, thinking more intentionally, communicating more strategically, and working collectively toward a shared goal: improving quality of life in Nigeria and beyond.
As we look ahead to the 2026 edition, we are inviting communication leaders, storytellers, and change-makers who want to think differently, connect deeply, and lead with impact.
